Fox hunting at night

    I can remember dad telling me about if youkilled a fox better be quite about it. They would get mighty pissed about it.

    Some counties they aren't but the fish and wildlife don't care they want you to kill them all

    I used to hunt foxes at night in the late '60s. Had a Johnny Stewart Game caller, 45 RPM records.
    Setup in a pasture next to a big thicket area, turn on "Injured gray fox cub" and foxes would run over you.
    Used red light to shine their eyes coming in and turn on spot light when they got close enough for a shotgun.
    Shot mostly grays, reds didn't call as easy. We didn't have coyotes back then. Easy to shoot 5-6 grays back then.
    Exciting hunting. Not many foxes now, since the dang coyotes took over.
