Been looking at some new 150 trucks.A little worried about this new 10 speed transmission.Heard there were a lot of problems with them in 2017 and 2018 when they first came out.Wondering if they got them working better by now??Any of you boys have any experience with them??

Idk but I really wish the bed supports on my 12' 250 wasn't rusting through the bed already.

Ol man has a 150 v6 xl with the aluminum bed. It popped and cracked like crazy walking around on it for a while lol. They have upped the xl package to power windows, mirrors and the back up v camera, cloth seats. You prolly know all this if you been checking em out.
A cousin had a wheel bearing go out just under the warranty Luckily. The inline 5cyclinder turbo has some pep to it.

Mine is a 2013 FX4. I love it. 95,000 miles, and no issues thus far, knock on wood. It has the Ecoboost, and it is very impressive. Tons of power. But, the mileage isn't as good as advertised. I get 15 around town, and best I've ever gotten on the highway was 19, with a bed cover on.

My son just bought one like you talking about. I think a 2017 F 150 4 dr. 4 WD with about 35 K on it. Owned previously by a woman..
    Its Mennonite Black.

I don't know how many speeds the Transmission has, I can't tell what its doing anyway. Must be a bunch as its seems to always be shifting as you rev up to speed.

When I was researching trucks a while back, I questioned the 8-10 speed tranny issue. My understanding is it’s to help with the overall fuel mileage requirements. That was 3 years ago, so I could be misremembering

My bosses company vehicle is a 2017 F150 with ecoboost v6 and 10-spd (crap now IDK if it's an 8 or 10 spd, it might be 8? I know it's more than 6 LOL ) auto and it's been flawless for almost 75k miles. I bought his previous work truck, a 2014 F150 Super Crew cab FX4 w/ ecoboost v6 and 6spd auto. Same deal, been mechanically flawless and is within a few hundred miles of rolling over 150k miles. Its for sale if someone needs/wants it. I'll let it go for less than KBB fair market value. My family is growing in early August and we have other trucks so a better family-mobile is what will be replacing mine. :(

I have not stayed in the loop on newer stuff , but I never cared for the multi gear autos and being relatively new there are bound to be bugs, Dodge has had the 8 spd for a few years I believe bits a ZF trans built in Germany and there have been few issues with it. I just don't much other then it's a joint effort between Ford and GM ..
    Did find this..

And this , this doesn't sound good..

    Also found this.

"I think most of the complaints have to do with quirky shifting or hunting for gears. The trans is set up for maximum MPGs so it will shift alot to stay in the optimum gear. The quirky shifts are mostly because the trans is adaptive and you have to drive it the same way every time, at least that is what I've been told"

Look at the new Colorados! They have a turbo 4 cyl diesel standard shift!
They have made them a lot bigger in size
