I have a buddy that used to press over 500 lbs. Now he has had shoulder surgeries, back and neck surgeries, knee surgery and elbow problems . He walks like he is 80 years old at 45. I'm not going to tell you to quit going to the max, because you would probably tell me to shove my opinion, but I've been through 4 back surgeries and I know that when you do things in your youth that are "extreme" or cause wear and tear on your body, you pay for it later on in life. The key is moderation and common sense. That is a great max, but we are in this for the long haul, so be very careful and don't get caught up in the "macho" BS and hurt yourself. Lift for heath not heavy.![]()
Yeah I trying to head that way because of want to instead of have to. I did 405 last Oct. but didn't get it on video. Now that I have 415 on video I got something to watch when I get in the mood, and something to show the kids and grandkids if I ever have any. Crossfit is the next step for me I think, they have a pretty cool website best functional strength and fitness I have ever saw or read about. Totally different from anything you have seen in common gyms or magazines.
