The contractor doing my kitchen remodeling busted both sides out of the cabinet pulling the oven out. I am not happy with it but he said it won't be visible. I am not happy with that response.

I don’t know what we are looking at. Can’t tell what’s what. It looks like the rail is split well beyond the finished face of the oven? Weren’t these supposed to be brand new cabinets? What’s going on down by the drawer slide?

They obviously didn’t remove the screws and split the rail. What condition is the oven in? Seems like it would be damn near impossible to remove it without removing the mounting screws 🤣

Man I’m sorry you’re having to deal with this aggravation. His answer is not OK.

I suppose the question I have for you is what do you want? would you like it filled and repaired or replaced. My opinion on the matter is that a cabinet contractor needs to be the one fixing it not some D bag that doesn’t know how to pull out an oven without checking for brackets

I want it in the shape it was to begin with....so replaced. However I will have to worry about the new cabinet matching up, wouldn't I?

His crew also took down my deer mounts, brushed the fur backwards leaving finger marks on all of them. Never got an apology for that..not a word.

I’m a contractor but just on the Electrical side. We are technically in a customer service format of a job in my opinion. If it was damaged by him he needs to make the repairs or pay for the repairs. IMO

I’ve had a piece of cabinet split before and the homeowner wanted to replace the entire end so I basically done the rest of the job for free. Came back for a service call later and all they did was put a piece of shoe mold down and kept the money in knocked off to repair the cabinet. It goes both ways out here but yours is a clear-cut answer.

Doesn’t sound like your contractor or crew is worth much. I remember you posting earlier about them going through your stuff, I didn’t figure you still had the same crew. My opinion it’s not okay, visible or not he’s leaving it worse than he found it and weakened the cabinet for future issues. Should be fixed on his dime and he should be well aware that’s how these situations work.
