6:45am. Arrived a few minutes earlier. I was buzzed by one, while attempting to add yet another perching branch before arrival. It went on to feeder 3 for it all, which remains spider free.

Still adding more glass feeders to previous page.

6:50am, portly little girl perched upon her hummer sappling and is now sipping away.

6:54am. Second little girl perched beside her for a few seconds and then friendly chase ensued.

10:07am. Three hummers confirmed. Portly little girl took off from her hummer sapling after the new one and was directly upon its tail feathers within a flash, as it flew through the east end of the covered deck and quickly out toward the NW. The other little girl was perched above me acting oblivious to all, sipping away.

6:18 pm. Four hummers finally confirmed, resolving my suspicions, one being portly little girl. The hummer sapling may be assisting with the ability to determine such from beneath the roof. Off to search online for more feeders.

How many feeders do you need for 4 hummingbirds?

No idea, Sir. Evidentally multiple ones with portly little girl in charge and/or her Daddy, Rufus. I may have many more hummers and simply fail to realize such. Probably the same all year, actually.

I keep the feeders close to me yet have mega flowers scattered everywhere for them, and I have done so all year. That spreads the hummers out quite a bit, preventing me and the hummers from knowing which one is where or how very many. Positioning seems to be key, just like with my bluebirds' boxes. I have learned that many hybrid flowers do not produce as much nectar, maybe sometimes not at all.

Three hummers confirmed late this morning and at least two not long ago, one being portly little girl.

6:46am, braving the cold with portly little girl. She is a few minutes early today, perhaps even visiting earlier, but I doubt it.

6:48am, second little girl flew in and might have managed a sip, before being escorted away by portly. Returned once again for second try but same. And yet again as I type. Portly has been perching directly beside the feeder upon a branch, in guard mode and chirping away.

48°F an hour ago and likely colder now. Too much so for me, back inside now.
