My dad keeps saying Oct 9th. But I will go with the 18th.

Recorded that I first heard a katydid on the 16th. So I gotta go with Oct 16.
I also heard years ago (a wives' tale) that if you wanted hot peppers, you had to plant them mad. So as I was planting them, I was mad! Called them little SOBs, threw dirt at them, if they didn't grow right, I would pour bleach on them and shoot all the neighbors. Seems to work!
