Well, I awoke this morning at 5:30, got up looked out at the backyard thermometer and it was under 10.. I stuck my head out to feel my nose hairs freeze and decided to do a mid-morning hunt. Got in the stand around 8:45, sat there for a couple hours didn't see a thing besides 30 squirrels haha. Got back on the atv and decide to drive around a couple neighboring farms to see if I could spot some deer feeding in the field or bedded down. Didn't see a thing, got back to the house around noon to a ringing phone. My buddy just dropped a doe, back to the woods I went. I was hurrying along through along a big sage grass hillside when I looked up at the cliff, I thought man that looks like a buck rack stickin above the grass. I turned around and stopped for a peek, yup.. It's a deer. I am now looking up the hill trying to take rest off the seat. The only thing I can see is 1 eye ball, a bit of the right main beam, and part of the neck. For 10 minutes I waited for him to move, he never did, he thought he was hidden. Finally I decided that this late in the game I had to take the chance. I did a quick check of the yardage, 225. I put the crosshairs on the deers head, then put the cross hairs where I thought that his neck had to be, and touched one off. Buck instantly disappeared so I knew it was a good shot. Hurried off to get my friend who had just killed the doe and up the hill we went to load up the buck!

He's old and big, his teeth are almost gone in the back.
