I would highly suggest a guide. If I ever get drawn I dont care how much it cost I want the best outfitter in the land. I have put in for years and years never got drawn for nothing. My boss moved here from another state and got drawn the first year. Its frustrating. But for the ones that do get drawn im tickeled for. Hope you kill a stud.

Congrats on the tag. I used Lost Mountain Outfitter in 2018. If you are thinking of using an Outfitter you better start calling TODAY.... They fill up fast. Mine wasn't the biggest, but it was good enough for me.

Try to get what you can in writing. (Who will be your guide, how long do they plan on hunting, is lodging and food included?) A neighbor of ours had a rough go at it. After 9 am the guide had to go to work at his "Real" job so they only hunted for a few hours the first few days. He finally raised enough stink that they gave them someone else to take them out and did get a Bull.

I know a few people that went with less well known and cheaper guides that resulted in no shows opening day and complete waste of tag. Do your research. My uncle didn’t listen to me and went with a guy that ended up getting busted poaching (week 1 )with a client and didnt bother to call until 3rd day of his week 2 hunt. He still went but didnt see a thing despite some locals trying to help him out.

Was wondering how selecting a guide works if no one knows what zone they’re hunting in yet.
