I hunted Paul Van Booven. Opening day I hunted close to gate 6. Got on elk first thing after day light. That didn't work out because of the wind. Got on top of a ridge and glassed for a lil while till we spotted a lone cow feeding in another bowl a mile off. Took 1 1/2 hours to get there. Lost her. Glassed again for a while and she ended up coming right into our laps. Had my one brother cow call for me so seal the deal. Shot her with my Mathews Z7 at 28 yds. She went about 80-100 yds. She had a collar and ear tags. It was kinda cool. Saw some nice Bulls and a collared one that had a rack that resembled more like a caribou than an elk. Definitely easier to hunt these then the elk in Montana and Colorado. Hunt was short and sweet but we enjoyed it. Felt good getting it done with just my brothers. [IMG]

That's awesome, good job. I did a lot of calf tagging in that area, maybe I had my hands on her when she was a baby.
What color was the ear tag?

I have not been down there for about the last 6 years doing any tagging. I didn't think they were still doing it. I did help build the viewing tower down there if you seen that.
