If you find it easy to be a Christian you are probably not one.

Being a Christian is more then just a name tag " Hello I'm a Christian".
If that's all it means to you you're not truly serving the lord..
Over 80% of the people in this country claim to be Christian, but how many are actually living it. And how many will find out one day you might fool people but you can't fool God.

One thing is certain true Christians in this country don't go through near the persecution as Christians in many others. We can worship openly we can witness to others we can sit on a bench in the square and " gasp" read our Bible. What's the worst we get , a few odd looks, called backwards worshippers of fairy tails, we get mocked for praying to our mythical sky God? Or maybe we get mocked online? This is not persecution sorry to break it to you..

Real persecution is having your church burned your family raped and killed , drug out of your home and shot or hacked to bits just because you worship a God they don't.
What does happen in this country but not on the same level (yet) , people have lost jobs and businesses because of Christian values. A baker doesn't want to make a cake and the mob attacks, a photographer refuses to take pics at a gay wedding and social media tears them apart.
This might be a form of persecution but shadows in comparison to what happens to christians in many other parts of the world.

Of course being a Christian here in the USA is much easier, but I do fear it's going to get harder that is Satans plan.

Have a blessed day read your Bible pray for christians around the world , many of them pray for us because much of America has lost its way..

"Psalm 96:5-6
5 For all the gods of the peoples are idols,
but the Lord made the heavens.
6 Splendor and majesty are before Him;
strength and beauty are in His sanctuary."

James 2:1-9
My brothers and sisters, show no partiality
as you adhere to the faith in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ.
For if a man with gold rings and fine clothes
comes into your assembly,
and a poor person with shabby clothes also comes in,
and you pay attention to the one wearing the fine clothes
and say, “Sit here, please,”
while you say to the poor one, “Stand there,” or “Sit at my feet,”
have you not made distinctions among yourselves
and become judges with evil designs?

Listen, my beloved brothers and sisters.
Did not God choose those who are poor in the world
to be rich in faith and heirs of the Kingdom
that he promised to those who love him?
But you dishonored the poor.
Are not the rich oppressing you?
And do they themselves not haul you off to court?
Is it not they who blaspheme the noble name that was invoked over you?
However, if you fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture,
You shall love your neighbor as yourself, you are doing well.
But if you show partiality, you commit sin,
and are convicted by the law as transgressors.

Good morning, Ojibwa62. Although taken out of overall context, I respectfully while strongly disagree with the wording of this part. The members of this website forum are fairly respectful to Christians, which is a nice change of pace, and it is actually a blessing to witness and participate in openly praying with other Christians on this website forum, but if you go onto other website forums throughout the country, such is not the case at all, unfortunately.

I can recall being on a SoCal newspaper forum many years ago, where I found myself inadvertently assisting a preacher whom frequently traveled into Mexico, with authorization to preach in Mexican prisons, which is not easy to obtain authorization for and quite dangerous. He would frequently post on the SoCal newspaper forum and be consistently persecuted, even by others claiming to be Christians, which was simply amazing to me, being that it was quite evident he was guided by the Holy Spirit.

For that reason and possessing formal debate training, I consistently had his six on the forum, going up against many misguided souls, to include quite a few open atheists, but it was taxing, indeed, simply in the way of seeing the terribleness in form they could actually persecute him and the pleasure they took in doing so, in vile means. The two of us made an excellent team and would eventually shut those debates involving Christianity down, with divinely backed authority, of course. My point is that online persecution can become really bad within other parts of the country, and such may be finally, slowly working its way here onto Kentucky websites, as well, but hopefully all will prevent such from becoming as bad as elsewhere, because it is damaging to all Christians and those yet to be saved.

This I do agree with, unfortunately.

I appreciate your input and I was not referring to anyone on this forum. It was a more of a generalization of many in the online community.
My wish is that people not only read my devotional , but also at times feel convicted.
And then will strive to do better in their personal life and walk with God.

And I guess my point about online persecution not being real persecution could have been worded differently.. It still does not rise to the level of being martyred.

I understand, that is why I mentioned it was taken out of your overall context. Regardless, written words are interpreted in unique fashion, which is the reason I bothered to address it. In today's world, online persecution of Christians, simply for our faith, is very real and has great purpose driven by Satan, was my point. Neither was I referring to anyone on this forum, but like you, yourself, more of the overall community, while adding what I have seen online in other parts of the country, as well as abroad.

The preacher I mentioned is of a different denomination from that of my own, while closely related to it. While I could not agree with all of the ways of his own denomination, I could and did still stand in support of him. Hopefully he remains safe to this day, traveling into those harsh Mexican prisons to share God's Word. When I finally mess with my desktop, I may be able to make contact with him again, in order to learn what has become of him.

Never has been and never will be easy to be a Christian. When a person lives a worldly life..Satan is not nearly as focused on your situation..because your participating in a life of sin.The instant that a person comes under conviction and starts to pull away from the world....Lookout!! Satans back with a vengeance and has his crosshairs on your soul.
Seems like the term “Christian” has become a generic term for a person who is good.Hell will most likely be full of good people.I may be one of them myself...But I know one thing..it’s getting tougher everyday in the USA to be a follower of Jesus Christ.
