Can you use feathers or the smaller 2 inch vanes on x-bow bolts? I need to re-fletch some bolts and just wondering if anyone has tried feathers or should i just stick with vanes? Thanks in advance.

I fletch my own shafts but shoot feathers with bow & crossbow.

I played around with vanes & feathers.. but found I got better acuracy...specifically with broadheads using 5"in feathers. Guess I'm a little old school...butI have a tendancy to believe their more forgiving with any archery set-up and with crossbows ....minor effects with rail & fletch it makes a noticible difference.

The only downside.....rain & feathers dont mix too well. If you go the feather route....I use Bohning Feather-Dri. Its a powder type waterproofer and has yet to fail me.

Have never tried the 2" Blazer type vanes ....so have no advice good or bad. Just know the profile of the vane is higher...so you need to make sure the channel on crossbow /what the fletch rides in is deep enough...or your just setting yourself up for flight / accuracy issues.
