What is your favorite sound in the deer woods while hunting...besides a doe blowing at you?
Grunts when they're chasing.
If we're being sarcastic here.. next on the list behind does blowing is the stupid ridiculous number of chipmunks in WV. I'm talking dozens every sit. Will drive ya nuts. They make twice the noise as a 350lb bear...no $hit.
Listening to all the sounds as the woods wake up on a beautiful morning in God's creation..
That’s a good one.
The ridge runners
Mine has to be the owls. I love hearing the owls fire up . At one of our places it gets crazy there are so many.
The sound of neighboring hunters driving their ATV just after first light.
Cold morning hearing a grouse drum off in the distance. Amazing they can make that sound carry so far
My best stand location I have, all I get to listen to all day is jake brakes and rumble strips with the occasional honk, I’m about 75 yards from the wkp
All the geese flying over from owsley fork lake heading to lake Reba
I'd have to agree with this.....along with the crashing sounds associated with a buck running a doe !!
There is absolutely nothing that gets my heart pounding like the unmistakable sound of a deer walking though dry leaves. Different than a squirrel and no doubt a deer. Even better when you hear it mid nap at 30 yards!
My second favorite sound is an arrow hitting ribs. Obviously unique to bow hunters. Lord what a great sound.
