Never shot a 4. But shot an 8 gauge once. ONCE!!!!!!!!
Never heard of a 4
Shot the 8. Seen a 6 gauge a 4 gauge and 2 punt gun 2 gauges. Same guy owns them all. Pretty neat to see them and shoot the 8.
Shot my dad's single shot 10 gauge with 31/2 00 buck shot when I was 10 years old and that was like getting kicked like a mule.ouch!!! Can't imagine a 4 gauge.
Not sure about a 4 but my dad has owned a lot of those old weapons. I know he had an 8 gauge he shot quite often. Seems like a guy from WVa drove down and bought it from him. He may have others, no telling.
Looks like he was shooting this English black powder 4 bore. Great short video breaking it down.
Nope and dont want to,,,,my bones dont need popping.
You can actually see the shot coming out. That's cool
Worked on an addition to a concrete manufacturing plant back in the 60's ... they had a smoke stack for some part of the process that was maybe 120 feet tall and it would build up a big blob of concrete around the top on a regular basis. Since they didn't want it to break off and fall on somebody or some thing ... they had a 10 gauge slug gun mounted on some kind of framework to shoot the blob and break it off the stack ... this required several shots. NOBODY wanted to shoot that damn thing even though it was securely mounted because it would kick their butts. BUT they could always find somebody to do it.
After seeing some poor guy walk off with his arm just dangling and in obvious pain ... I decided that 12 gauge was my limit.
