I disagree. For someone who commutes and can save $100 a week, $5k a year on gas the $35k purchase price of a Tesla Model 3 would pay for itself in 7 years.

Just occurred me tonight....... Why do electric vehicles not come with solar panels on all horizontal surfaces? Seems logical, at least to me.

After you hire an electrician to add a dedicated 240 circuit, I’d say on average $15/charge. Maybe $20

Until there are more cars using electric and then it will be like gas, then everyone's electric will go up no matter if you own an electric car or not. They will say supply and demand and poof electric bills go up for everyone.

The batteries may cause a lot of cars to get stolen just to have the batteries ripped out and resold like converters.

I’m all for electric cars just like I was for cordless tools once they became practical. Of course, they weren’t force fed on us in 1960 cause that’s about where our EV technology is in comparison. It needs to happen at its own pace with the effect on the economy taken into full consideration.

I’m all for the concept of electric cars but I just dont think the technology is there yet. I wondered why on electric vehicles each whee cant have an alternator on it to charge the batteries. I understand it wont be able to charge the car 100% but it my be able to increase the cars range 25 to 30 percent. A second issue is taxes. There is alot of tax on gasoline now when/if there is a switch over to electric where is the goverment gonna get that lost revenue? Tax on electric coming soon to you…

I’ve read all kinds of proposals on that very issue. One is to have a surcharge at charging stations. Of course, that won’t get folks who charge at home. The other is a tax on the front end of the EV purchase, making the initial purchase price quite expensive. The 3rd is to monitor the number of miles you drive and send you a bill....

Of course $100 a week on gas is not uncommon. What is unrealistic is the purchase and operating cost of an electric vehicle. They are too expensive to be viable.

They do....that's how hybrids work. Actually, I think they recharge on braking

Batteries are rated at 300k-500k miles. Most cars are done by that point anyway

Talk to Tesla owners. Anything worth having is at the minimum $60k
