Pouring rain in Grayson. Definitely glad I bought this blind. Supposed to end around 10am
Never saw him just heard him. One doe ran across holler and ran up and stopped in a thicket. I waited and waited and never came out. Finally I snuck out and went to house. I’m sure it was. 6.5 year old 210 inches. I always get close but never have laid eyes on him. Lol
Rattled this guy in just now to within 10 yards. He worked a branch and made a scrape before finishing his walk towards me. Cool way to start the day!
Am I the only one that thinks the rut is kicking in a little early?
Hunted yesterday, didn’t see no action till 11, seen 2 does and a fawn. Then yesterday evening seen a basket rack 6 point. This morning I’m hanging in my saddle in Adair county on a short ridge covered with rubs and acorns. Windy here and just squirrels so far. Going to leave in about 30 minutes for church.
I’m in Jefferson and it’s raining on me now.
I went out on Saturday morning, saw 10 Deer of which 6 were antlerless and 4 were Bucks, on my property. The antlerless showed up around 7:30 am with the 4 Bucks showing up at 9:30 or there about. The Bucks were: one 10-pointer, one Spike, and two 8-pointers. I took one of the 8-pointers as the 10 pointer was reluctant to approach my stand area. Sorry, I don’t have a photo but did photographed his antlers. I just didn’t have time with the checking-in on the phone, Field dressing, dragging, and loading him up. I had to drive 38 miles to the processor which closed at 12:00 Noon, so it was sort of like “Beat-The-Clock”. Hope others here have a great hunt.
I just climbed down and got under a giant leafed out beech tree to stay as dry as possible until it passes.
I dozed off think I was snoring and little 6pt came in I guess thought it was another one grunting, it woke me up stomping at me .. couple tail switches and few hops he didn't sound the alarm... This farmer trying get beans before rain so I'm done till evening
After rain 6 bucks came in.
Nothing so far in Grayson. Rain went away. If I don't see anything by 11 I'll probably head to the house.
In Jefferson or Holy Cross?
I didnt get to hunt this weekend as I had to take my boxer to the vet last night. She had been in labor all day. They induced her and we were up all night with her.
Got 8 healthy BIG puppies this morning
Jefferson and hope all puppies are healthy.
You can take the boy out of the country but can't take the country out of the boy.
Back in the stand hoping for the same here.
