I don’t know where y’all hunt but for several years now we’ve still had a lot of leaves for gun season and many trees green. This year is definitely no anomaly. Now, I finally got to go to the woods to do a few things last Friday and noticed we finally got some acorns. Past 3 years have sucked. Funny thing is I didn’t notice a lot falling. Seems like most were in the ground already.

Biggest deer I ever put my eyes on walked out on a 80 degree plus afternoon during muzzle.

I would have bet my entire life savings I wouldn’t see a deer.

my buddy had 2 beg me to go I said this is a waste of time.

We haven’t seen any big ones in several years now but we were on a streak of seeing big bucks during early ML for like 4-5 years. As luck would have it something always went wrong and we never killed any of them.

Only deer I got last year was last day of late ML and it was wet and nasty and I was in a ladder stand of all things. Kept my scope covers on and had a glove over the end of my ML. LOL.
Dude, just buy a little pack of kids balloons and keep them in your possibles bag. Pull one over your muzzle like a condom, and all the rain in the world won't bother your rifle.

Youngest killed a healthy doe Sunday that probably rattled when she walked. Stomach was full full of acorn and nothing else. No corn. No browse. Just acorns. Long skinny ones. Some were chewed. Some weren’t. Gluttonous.

Lots and lots of acorns around here. The deer will be very fat this fall. As a bonus, it will help keep them on our place and off the neighboring farms.
