PLEASE NO !! I know its coming but hate to see cold weather now. I may turn into a snow bird once I retire. Hate winter with a passion now.

I like snow. I hate the years when it’s just a frozen tundra and no snow. For the most part, I think our winters are pretty light most years. Now, my in-laws are snowbirds we’ve spent a few Christmas’s in SW FL and taking a walk in shorts and T-shirt or going to the beach on Christmas definitely has it’s advantages.

We need it knock down the leaves and rid us of the skeeters. And yes, I'm thinking about becoming a snowbird as well, New years day until April 1st.

This is kind of the same time I’d go down or one of the days after Christmas. My in-laws go down like mid October some years. I want to be here in the Fall. Of course, I hunt, and they don’t. What sucks though is the busy season in the areas we visit. Crowded.

Rain but lows in the 40s. I'll take it. Sunday is looking decent but I'd like a little frost on the pumpkin.
I was thinking the same about Sunday the 17th. Should be a great morning, in the low 40's after a front comes through. If the weather holds up, I'll be in a tree sunday morning. Of course its still a long way out.... So, we'll see.

I have some pictures taken last year on October 11th. There was more color in the leaves than they are this year on the same date. We need a good cold snap to get things moving.

I was thinking the same thing that the leaves are slow to start turning this year. Maybe because of all of the rain.
Need a little frost

Last year was much colder during the two day early M/L season. I about froze in my stand but they were really moving that morning, on October 17, 2020, bagged a nice 8-pointer around 9:00 AM. I think the temp was in the upper 30's around 36*, not like this year with a low in the 70's with high temps in the low 80's.

Saw 3 or 4 small bucks chasing last year on the Saturday of early muzzleloader. Great, cold morning for sure.
