You could put all the money in this country in a pot, divvy it up equally with every person, and i can gurrantee, in a years time, the same people will be broke, and the same ones sitting on money, with very few exceptions.
Facts are certain people cannot, or will not utilize opportunities, and you can never give them enough, to change that.
You could have moved and made more money. You didn’t have to stay working 100 hour weeks, that was your choice. Don’t forget that.

Damn. Almost liked your post.

Yeah, I have moved once. Didn’t like it and still don’t. Wife went to college and we moved. I have worked in almost half of United States. Met freaks and friends from many.

I can tell you my views on past or future so I will concentrate on future, hold your money!!! This economy is crashing at a very rapid pace that indicators are not keeping up with. When was the last time I was wrong?

My service WKRECC is a flat rate per hour company, no peaks so I’m not socially benefiting anybody on my bill except the public indoctrination system when they charge school tax, which btw, they get paid on multiple bills smfh, but I digress bigly. Not sure what your arguing about anyway, socialist programs isn’t “socialism” and that’s the main point here. Ours is a market based capitalist one, for the time being.
Either I’m not wording things properly. Or you’ve not understood what I’ve said. If you’re paying a flat rate on your electricity, you are in fact benefiting others or you are benefiting yourself from others. TVA is not charging WKRECC a flat rate. And again, my whole original post was that all socialist programs aren’t bad and that a lot of people seem to not understand the difference between socialist and socialism.

Except NONE of those things are “socialist programs” in the sense of taking money from those who do and redistributing it to those who do not. We pay taxes to fund certain services like police and fire protection, road departments/highway funds and I pay for my electricity, which btw, I pay taxes on which funds the biggest socialist program of them all…..public school.
Yessir. The basic functions of goobermint are no more socialist than capitalism itself. That argument is a communists attempt to shift the Overton window.

They very are much so. Why do all the counties have mostly paved roads? The local tax base cannot afford those in most rural areas.
Water treatment both for drinking and breaking down waste.

They are in the fact they take money and use it for something that everyone will use.
Tell me you don’t understand the basic functions of goobermint without telling me you don’t understand the basic functions of goobermint.

Part of the problem with the world today is we assume absolutely everyone experiences life the same way when it’s entirely untrue. I’m sure OP is a wonderful person and is the symbol of overcoming adversity. But to think his life and ability and experiences should transfer laterally is crazy. But to go through life today is difficult. Every old timer says we have it beyond easy and then in the same breath says they wish we’d go back to the old days. You could live on nothing. Literally nothing as long as you had family land which was the case for most. You raised a garden that you mostly propagated yourself or with seeds you got on credit and ate soup beans every single day. Average rent today in my area is about $700 without utilities. A vehicle is at least 1500 to 2000 to get something that runs. A family of 4 spends probably 2-300 a week on groceries. If you’re making 15$ an hour and are a single income family you are saving literally every single penny to have a home and some modicum of food in the home. You cannot tell me it’s easier today.
There have been poor people from the beginning of time. That will never change. Some people have a tough hand played to them. We also have a lot of assistance for those people. The biggest problem now is so many slackers jump on the handout wagon that it strains the resources. If you are down because you’re lazy I say tough. If you just don’t want to work a certain shift so you take a low paying job. Tough. If you were a slacker in school then that’s on you. Too many can do more to help themselves. A small percentage can’t. Not every will own a big house and new cars. That doesn’t mean they should be given a way to do that. Reap what you sow for the most part.

I’m not advocating at all for everyone to be equal. That’s silly. I’m just saying that some people need and deserve assistance. Especially when they’re in the position by no fault of their own

Agreed. The problem is who makes that decision? We have all seen how that goes, it turns into an income redistributing monstrosity every single time.

You’re not understanding me, there is only one rate for WKRECC personal residences regardless of the time of the day or day of the week and that doesn’t have anything to do with socialism even if they had a dozen different rates.
I understand you and all residents pay a flat rate. I’m telling you WKRECC does not pay a flat rate to TVA for the power they sell to you!!! They pay different rates for on and off peak times of usage. WKRECC levelizes those rates as a flat rate each month to its consumers. So if Joe Smo doesn’t work and stays home burning up the AC while you’re out working and barely using any electricity it drives up the rates the WKRECC has to pay. That amount gets averaged out to all of its consumers even though they didn’t use the electricity at a higher rate. So yes, you are either benefitting or getting screwed by WKRECC wether you want to acknowledge it or not.

Whatever, you’re probably right technically BUT I’m good with my electric bill, some of the cheapest rates in the nation and no way in hell Joe Smo is living it up all day at home not working on AC at my expense because the state sure asf ain’t paying it for him. He has to pay it himself except for very few instances of local electric relief, so if he can afford it let him have it.
