I would say get a cheap one to start but if you get into it big I like the custom calls just because you can pick one out that fits you personally.

Thanks guys iam goin to buy a new one this year and just wonted to see what ual like. Is there that much difference in a 20 dollar call verse a 120 dollar call?

Yes and No. in the hands of an experienced caller a high dollar single reed can be run a little more effectively (different high's and low ends). Very few have that ability (including myself) so for the most part no. The average caller will be better suited to a double reed call such as the Haydel DR-85 or the likes than say a RNT single reed. In the end buy what you feel comfortable with.

x2 what mayes said. Go and try some different ones out. Everybody is different and what works for someone else may not be suited for you.

I would go with a Haydel DR-85 if you're just starting out. Heck that call will last you forever and even experienced callers like it. Another one to check out would be the lower model echo's. They make them in single and double reed and they sound real good. Good luck this season!
