Any dove shoots in Grayson, butler, Edmonson area, will pay to shoot thanks
Good luck. I moved to London KY three years ago from East Tennessee. Dove hunting is huge where I lived in Tennessee. I haven’t found a single place that’s worth going to here in Kentucky. It seems as if nobody around here dove hunts. I miss it.
I usually get in on one good shoot a year but all the corn was planted late this year, a lot of people hunt they just don’t want company, I worked at a feedmill for 6 years and my mom has worked there for close to 15, you wouldn’t believe how many people come in buying wheat in August and they aren’t afraid to tell you what it’s for
With the fields in the shape they are, I can't see this being a good year for doves...
My field looks like a weed patch but there is a lot of Doves down there .
My sunflowers that are still standing have been robbed by the small birds that can lite on the heads and pick the seed out . The field was full of those little Yellow/ green birds. There was black birds ( Oreo's with the red slash on their wing) down there too . The were flocked together like they do at winter time .
There's a cooperative field in Butler Co. in the guide. Out hwy 79 towards Russellville.
Been seeing more doves this year than the last 5 yr and rabbits.
Dove hunting question.
I am accompanying an 11 year old for his first dove hunt on Sunday and am not sure on bag limits. The regulations are not specific on if we can both shoot a limit or if there is a 15 bird limit between the 2 of us. Any help clarifying this would be much appreciated. Thanks
You shoot 15. He shoots 15
Thanks Meatstick, appreciate the feedback.
And also good to keep them in separate pile’s wardens can be a-holes if they want to
Seen that but wasn’t sure about how any of that works, I live on 79 on the Grayson/butler line
Just show up and hunt. I generally always hit a cooperative field for opener. Has always been more birds than necessary. Especially this year. The good private shoots will be on labor day this time
I debating on the coop field or yellowbank both about an hour away
I miss a good dove shoot, but I just don't care for doves to eat.... Good luck to all of you that hunt, wear eye protection, and be safe!
