Doves at my field are down a lot this year.
I am sure I know the reason why. The farm across the road from that farm have leased their farm out to outfitters and they are pouring out the corn.
I had lots of doves a month ago and I watched the outfitters go down the road with a tree stand box blind on legs. They had feeders on the trailer to.

I hope there are some birds around I checked one field it had nothing but never has been much of a shoot.

I'm ready, Taking off Thursday and Friday!
Ours comes in Saturday, planted two acres of sun flowers but looks like the finches cleaned us out. There were birds around two weeks ago but very few now. Going to be a slow opener. We burned em down last season. Think someone close by has a better field then we do and has sucked em all up.

Holding out until Friday afternoon for my first hunt of the year!! But starting Friday it’s on after that! My crew is ready to go!! My sunflowers are a couple weeks away from being ready to hunt. We’ll hunt some chopped corn fields to start the season. Good luck to everyone!!!

1Hour and a half maybe 30 shot around us I just had one come in and it didn't leave, terrible opener not many doves around its getting hot don't think it's going to get better today.
I say itis probably from hunters feeding deer corn. My fields was loaded up to a couple weeks ago and then they disappeared
A outfitter has moved in and they are throwing corn out everywhere. I am just glad they are not next to my farm where I deer hunt.

This may be a stupid question, I’m no dove hunter. But would it be worth hunting over a freshly bush hogged field?

It can be. If it’s ragweed, I’ve seen doves just pile up on a cut ragweed field. Probably other natural plants that can attract too.
