Well, sorry for the delay on gettin this info to the whitetail community. This monster was killed Nov. 13th , 2011. Yes I know im a year late but my computer blew up that had all the pics on it lol..
This is a deer that was dubbed "Mufasa" the year pryor while sporting four smaller droptines as a 6 1/2year old. Mufasa went unseen for most of his life due to a large plot of land that we have set aside for sanctuary for our deer . We very rarely ever set foot on it. Since going to this crazy idea our deer harvest has moved from avg score of 131 (95'-04') to a avg of 157 (04'-12')
Mufasa dressed 224lbs. Double drops of 13" and 10". He carried all that bone on a massive 30 3/4 " neck. When killed he was assumed to be 7 1/2 by judgement of teeth. He produced 21 points of a half inch or longer but only 17 measurable. All said and done he scored 174 7/8.. He was a one shot and a drop at 110 yards with my savage 30-06.

Was he a registered breeder buck? What caliber was the club used to wack him on the head?

Ha ha no he was killed free roaming.. lol.. sanctuary is about 75 acres and we hunt 150 acres that surround it. I
wish I had him as a breeder buck but he was there for seven years and droptines are genetic cause weve had them poping up everywhere. Two last year that made it through the season. One 20" wide 11" drop on one side.. and a yearling with a one inch drop.. thanks guys for the comments

You've got some good genetics in your area. If that's your dad in the photo... he used to be my mailman. :D

Yep thats my pops .. lol he carried for thirty years.. ;-) . Yes we've been blessed with good genetics.. then with the managment we've put in place, we have created a hunters dream.. this is a 4 1/2 year old named Pickett my girlfriend killed out of the same stand that next weekend.. he neted 151 5/8" only cause of a broken g3 that we had fixed for the mount. Otherwise he woulda been a solid 160". Her second deer she was very happy and now spoiled...

Yes dowdy did the mount.. took him a lil bit but it looks awsome.. I actually almost didnt let her shoot him cause I thought he may have been a lil on the small size.. we try not to pull the trigger unless its above 155" or a cull.. her first deer scored a 144".. so I decided to let her shoot him after he ran back in forth in the field for ten min chasing doe.. she dropped him one shot 100yrds

Sounds like you better be careful if you ever decide she's not the one. :p
