I haven't been checked in a long time
I get checked on the water at least once a year. Been checked on the bank a few times in my life. Only reason I mentioned it that way is I have had a CO pull into the bank from the water to check my license in the past. It could happen. Knowing my lack of luck, I would be there the day they decided to if I didn’t have a license and it would be the asshole that didn’t care and says you own the land but not the water you are fishing in so you are getting a ticket.
I creek fish a lot. I’ve been checked once or twice a year the last 5 years in a row believe it or not. That’s not small creeks though
I get checked a couple times a year.
On Ky and Barkley You DO NOT own even to the water line. Your property stops at the 375/6 elevation line. You need a dock permit from TVA/COE BECAUSE You build the dock on Public Property.
Why? They’re just doing their jobs. I’m glad we’ve got them.
If you own the land, no license required
You still have to follow state size and creel limits, but no license required
No license for me but if my friends come along, or my oldest son which is no longer a dependent have to have one. The same son who helped design a couple of the ponds and helped stock them. Useless laws are part of the the reason the court systems throws out the tickets and doesn't take wildlife violations seriously.
