Are you implying that canvasbacks aren't good table fare ?

If you either don't have the time and energy or the simple respect to eat what you kill I don't guess I could change your mind.

It's a pretty well documented fact that canvasback and lots of other waterfowl for that matter were prized and sold to fine resturaunts in this country and others for hundreds of years.
It doesn't come in a styrofoam box and it takes a little effort to prepare but it is well worth it.

If you are one of those guys that hunts so you can pose for a mean mug tailgate shot for facebook and then toss your ducks in a ditch or a trash bin you may be better served to spend your time shooting clay pigeons or booking a trip in another country where the outfitter keeps the kill for the locals or young boys pick up your birds enthusiasticly to take home and feed their family.
I got nothing else to say .

The duck looks spectacular. The green stuff would benefit from a drizzle of screaming hot bacon grease.

Unfortunately this likely goes beyond waterfowl. I ofter hear deer hunters comment that their venison tastes "gamey". Many were killed, thrown in the back of the truck for hours for the hero tour. Later they are half arsed field dressed and then dumped at a processor. Buy beef from the grocery and treat it the same, it's likely to taste somewhat gamey.

There is nothing better than serving wild game that has been taken care of, and cooked properly. To me it's just another part of the hunt.

Great looking ducks by the way.

Pintail, Duh! Everything benefits from from bacon grease:)

A couple of pics of properly cared for venison. Aged 8 days and grilled to a perfect medium rare.

I was implying that a single breast and some greens is a light meal. Lighten up.

    I eat what I kill.

I guess I have nothing else to say.

Looks Good B.M. I got a bunch of ringnecks and and a couple redheads cleaned up in the freezer. Looks like a good recipe to try it on. Also got several buffleheads and hooded mergansers, got a good recipe for something like that?
