Different type of question about deer hunting

I have a different type of question about deer hunting. I have a neighbor who has only a lot adjacent to the farm. He has started crossing the fence and baiting deer on my side of the fence and putting a ladder stand on the fence line to hunt from without contacting me. Obviously they leave something to be desired as neighbors. His family performed an armed robbery of a country store years ago and has been involved in thefts and drug transactions. I really do not want a confrontation about this due to the criminal history.

Is there any way to temporarily stop deer from using this area without being too obvious about it? This area is about 75 yards wide and perhaps 300 yards long allowing some surplus area. I have thought of using some of my dirty stinking white drawers at each end of this area to detour the deer. Does anyone have suggestions to offer. I know that most questions here are about attracting deer but I want to repel them. Thanks in advance.

It's a bummer you have to deal with neighbors like that. I'm all for aimiable relationships with the folks around me and encourage some friendly conversation. At the same time I understand your dilemma. Good luck! Remember a wise man once said "a kind answer turns away wrath". And while speaking kindly, you might take the corn that's already on your property and move it further into your property.

Mothballs work. I would HAVE to talk to this guy tho. It's YOUR property. I understand not wanting to stir a stink with someone like that, but you can't let them do as they please on your own property

I understand your situation as described...but in my opinion the longer you avoid or allow the trespass ... it will only get worse.

Which the baiting aspect is one thing deer hunting... but if the individuals have an unscrupulous attitude toward laws and the same thing would occur during turkey season .. your place would be considered baited.

Overall it’s a difficult situation when your talking neighbors and trying to keep peace. But in most cases if you give an inch .. they will take a yard.

Good luck.

Nip it in the bud no matter how ignorant they are or it will only get worse. I'd have the game warden out immediately before they're walking on your property with firearms and the game wardens are too busy to deal with anything but emergencies.
