Public Pensions are not broken, they are underfunded due to past legislatures not providing the required funding in the budget. As long as the ARC is properly funded in the budget, like it has been the past two budgets, it is a self correcting mechanism over time.

Pensions are for profit producing entities. Governments do not make profits. They need to be converted to self funded plans like 457 plans. Very few companies still provide Defined Benefit Plans there is no reason government employees should have any benefits the general public doesn't have and that includes Congress. IMO

OK, Ojibwa ... here’s your chance to walk the walk, which I agree with you’re talk BTW.

Seriously, is what you called me out on worse than the above?
If I am going to be fair I would have to say not cool or fair for Drake to constantly needle you. I would also like to see you bring more facts and less opinion.. I don't think the name calling or belittling have a place here or in a civil society.
I don't know you or Drake personally so don't really know true intentions. I still think we can all get along without all the BS.. This a huge problem in society today that we can't seem to find any common ground it us against them my tribe against your tribe and no one wins we all lose.

SHOW us proof.

It's very easy to see you have NEVER had a successful business.

Look at the HIGH TAX state of California, WORKING middle class people are moving OUT of that state to get away from those high taxes. Illegals with nothing are moving in to collect all the free stuff.

Look at the HIGH TAX state of New York. They have several different TV commercials pushing the FACT they are LOWERING TAXES for business. If you have not seen them in the last year you do NOT have a TV, they are every where. The reason they are lowering taxes for business is because all the business are MOVING to LOW TAX states.

Supply-side economics is a macroeconomic theory arguing that economic growth can be most effectively created by lowering taxes and decreasing regulation. According to supply-side economics, consumers will then benefit from a greater supply of goods and services at lower prices and employment will increase.

I would say that is pretty much what's happened.

The opposite of supply side economics is demand side economics. Demand side economics is all about increasing demand in the consumer. This has been referred to as Keynesian economics. The idea here is that the quickest way to spur demand is to increase the relative wealth of the people who want to make purchases. This theory is mostly espoused by liberal Democrats who want to redistribute wealth by taking extra income taxes from corporations and the rich in order to redistribute it to the middle class and poor. Two ways to increase demand are to create jobs and raise minimum wages. Tax rebates and tax cuts are two other ways to increase discretionary funds to drive consumer spending. One danger of too much consumer demand is inflation.

Redistribution of wealth if that's the case then we should implement Bernie Sanders and Casio idea of Universal Income. Give everyone in America a guaranteed 16,000.00 a year whether the work or not.

Everyone needs to read this.

http://law.emory.edu/elj/content/vo...s/law-social-control-american-capitalism.html

Basically, it says that America, since the founders has gradually eroded itself away from true Capitalism via expansionist government regulations on the free market. I 100% percent agree with that assessment. Trickle down never worked because it was never applied to a true Capitalistic economy, and was never given time to do so. When it didn't work within 2 years, it became a political party issue and was essentially abandoned. And yes, I blame both political parties.

Where Trumps plan works is that that it's more drastic, and had an immediate and long lasting effect. My own company invested a large part of the savings back into it's employees. We got an additional 1% match on our 401K's among other things, and they reinvested some to reduce debt, thus strengthening the long term position of the company.

Where Trumps plan does not work is it still kicks the can down the road somewhat in terms of spending. It should have been tied into equally, if not even more drastic spending cuts. I'm talking about 0 funding for some programs, and the reduction and elimination of certain government entities. That's the only true Capitalistic way for it to work over the long term. But then again, neither major party ever considers the long term do they?

Trumps budget plan has not even been been started. He has already said he is NOT signing another Omnibus bill. You are not being fair at all because two years is not enough to study the long term effects of financial policy on an economy the size of ours. IF you don't like Trump now wait for the budget cuts.

I have. They will pay you something for something you do. May not be poor but barely had much. I would help them cut wood or other things. Because as youngster I did work for people around to make spending money. I NEVER TOOK THEIR MONEY. Because I knew they didn't have it to spare. But they will offer before Before a RICH MAN WILL.

Do you think a rich man puts his money in a safe???? Money deteriorates in a safe to a thing called inflation! The INVEST it or SPEND it, both of which CREATES JOBS!!! Those huge yachts require a good sized crew to maintain and manage. Those huge farms need workers of all sorts.. Ant the invested money finances business expenditures and business creation!

Who is attempting to fix the issue???

Ladies and Gentleman ...

The original topic was about Rocky Adkins...can we get back to that...there are some things that I would like to know regarding his candidacy and your input is valuable to me...

For the record...

I am a TEACHER (nearing retirement) and while a conservative republican that leans more libertarian, there is absolutely NO WAY in **** that I can or will vote for Matt Bevin in the next election. His actions towards public education has already set public schools backwards (lowering standards for both teachers and students alike--to make charter schools more competitive ???--I cannot figure out the logic in his actions unless there is some hidden financial interests) and seriously jeopardizing our children/students ability to be competitive.

Years ago, before anyone who is currently teaching started their careers, the commonwealth was absolutely desperate for high quality teachers and state workers...to encourage a more intellectual college students to pursue the education necessary for the degrees and qualifications, the commonwealth came up with a compromise (since raising teacher salaries to a competitive professional level was not possible) they instituted an "inviolable (unbreakable) contract" that provided specific benefits including a "defined benefit" pension (that at the time, did not cost the state any money for 27 years)...

Teachers and state workers agreed to work for their salary and the "inviolable contract"...they were promised specific benefits...the teachers have carried out their end of the bargain, now the state must follow through... Any government willing to make and break this type of agreement forfeits the right to be believed on any further contracts with anyone including major industries the government is trying to bring in...

Additionally, the behavior of the Republicans in the General Assembly was disgusting...the "bait and switch" sewer bill is a tactic I would expect from Nancy Pelosi and democrats, not from Republicans who are suppose to behave more appropriately (and I voted against everyone of them that voted for the Sewer Bill-HB159, though some of the votes were hard to cast)...

All of this has had a chilling effect on the education profession...college students who were majoring in education are changing majors because of the uncertainty of benefits and a non-competitive salary...high school students are witnessing very negative interactions (unfortunately also from some teachers as well as the General Assembly representatives and the Governor) and are showing less interest in education as a potential field, and current teachers are counting down the days to retirement or seriously looking at leaving the field all together...there is a real danger that our children and grandchildren may have a significantly lower standard of education than we were privileged to have...

All of that said, I also cannot support Andy Beshear for Governor for a variety of reasons that essentially comes down to my belief that his main function is covering up and/or whitewashing wrong doing in his father's administration and openly politicizing the office of Attorney General...

So that brings us back to Rocky Adkins--where does he stand on the issues (not only on taxes and pensions and education that you all spent 5 pages insulting each other over) especially those related to the 2nd Amendment, Concealed Carry, Wildlife Conservation, Hunting and Fishing, etc...

Any information would be appreciated...
