Just recently started drinking coffee at 49 yrs old. Hadn’t started by last deer season. Can a feller drink a cup of coffee from the stand without spooking deer? I know all about the movement being bad but just asking about the scent aspect ????

I used to worry about scent alot, I don't too much anymore. I keep everything clean, make sure I'm clean and my clothes then hunt with the wind. I spit tobacco out of my stand and pissed right off the side and never had a deer act alarmed about it. Not saying something completely wild like gasoline or garlic wouldn't alert them but in my experience a full nose of stinky human is the one thing that sends them to meltdown.

Don’t care. Enjoying my coffee in the outdoors. However, I’ve said, even on this forum, that two things I can pick up on in the woods is coffee and tobacco. Maybe not anymore, but I used to be able to tell if my dad opened a can of dip in his blind from 200 yds away. I’m sure deer can smell coffee. Whether or not they care???

Yeah me too. Hate going to the woods before that chore is done.
About my scent. I use to stress a little about it but not anymore. I keep clean and watch the wind more than anything. If a deer gets downwind I figure he’s going to smell me tho you do get lucky sometimes.

Good luck this morning
John
