Yeah I just want to get other opinions on the subject. I do believe high fence or outfitters should be excluded from any records. The reason being is you put almost zero effort in the hunt, you just had to show up, but most everything else is fair game I do believe. I hunt a lot and I do what I can to be successful.
Are you not aware that B&C/P&Y do not accept high fence animals? Have you been on guided hunts? If so, were they slam dunks or did you have to work?

I’ve asked this question and no one seems to want to answer it.I’ve been hunting for over 45 yrs and have seen the evolution of deer hunting and the boom that took place once all these TV celebs took over the Industry, I’m now 53.
Question is : With all the supplements that are out there for deer are those guys hunting deer or harvesting deer much like a cow or anything along those lines? All we see now a days is food plots and corn piles and minerals designed to enhance the deer herds(basically steroids for deer and their antlers) nothing we saw let’s say 45 years ago to what it is today. They don’t allow performance enhancing drugs in sports to beef up and if you do an mark goes by your name . What do you think?
All that crap you just mentioned being “steroids for deer” are 99.5% are marketing gimmick directed toward hunters. If your trying to say managing a piece of property for bigger and older deer is “unfair” then your crazy. How in the world is that a problem?

Oh yeah that’s the whole premise of the question in the first place. I never said any of it or anything else was an issue. The question was if you think that the use of supplements and crops made to enhance your genetics of the deer in your area should affect weather or not you get in the record book? (That’s it in a nut shell and then I get a rogue answer from someone and it goes to an entire different direction. Lol

Well, the bottom line is nothing you plant or pour out is goin to change the genetics of the deer in your area. It is what it is. If someone is able to manage a property or properties to let some deer live long enough to reach their full potential I see nothing wrong with it. If everybody had that same outlook whether they hunted 10,000 acres of private Managed land or hunted public then the quality of bucks everyone sees would be unbelievable .

I like food plots. Not in favor of corn piles, but since it is legal, I think I need to use it to compete with those around me. Best wishes in your hunting.
