Coolest thing I ever saw was a buck chasing a doe let out a buck "growl". Very cool. Never seen it before or since.

I was hunting a farm down in Union City and got up in the hotel tree house someone made and was sitting there and I pulled out the ol grunt call and blew a few times and I had 6 or 7 does came off this patch of woods and all of a sudden this big growl from the top. Can a buck have more than 1 doe in lock down. If so he was the man that day lol

I've never seen it, one day I thought it might happen as a nice 10pt was cutting a doe off and right on her tail but they went out of sight. I wasn't even hunting that evening, just laying next to some trees looking over a draw.

I’ve seen all kind of things in the rut but in all my years I’ve only seen a buck actually breeding a doe once. It was about 50 yards from my truck as I was walking out.

I’ve seen it several times. And every dang time multiple bucks mounted the same doe.

Yep, and the bucks are blind, crazy, senseless at that time!

So, bucks breed two different ways right? Like there are some that have a bit of finesse about it and there are some that go WHAM.
I don't know enough about it, but do you think finesse deer are different than wham deer? Like maybe the does run from them less or do they tend to be older bucks that are better at the game? Or is there any difference at all?

Watched six 1.5 and 2.5 yo bucks chase a doe all over the place a few years ago, then a decent 3.5 yo 8pt showed up and I ended the chase for a bit, guessing the doe was relieved.

I seen it twice, one was a big 6pt mounting a doe in a open pasture.
The second time was at work. My work truck was a old Dodge Cummins 24 valve
truck. It sounded like a bunch of hammers hitting a washtub idling. It was loud.
I was rounding a curve driving and there they were, not 20 yds off the side of the road.
Nice 8pt was doing the deed,he never looked up at the truck noise and he
nailed her twice. After it was over the doe stood there like she was gut shot, all hunched over.
The buck walked around to her front and took his right antler and pushed her shoulder down till her
front legs was on her knees.
I saw a car coming and drove on.....
