Get it son. I didn't go to GRL for these, stayed local. Give them butt sniffers a break and hit the water for a few hours!!!
We used to fish alot in the winter time. Float-Fly rig, ice freezing in your rod guides. Caught a lot of smallies.
All of my diehard crappie fishing buddies down here on Kentucky Lake do most of their fishing November through end of February honestly, with December-January being the peak. Colder the better. The general consensus is the spawn and all the out of town idiots it brings with it is a far distant 3rd to fall and winter fishing. I know those crappies taste a lot better out of 36 degree water than 60+.
