But they are biting!!!
Nice mess of Crappie you caught there. Guess I'll have to get out with my son.
Good mess of feesh.
Nice. I got cold rabbit hunting today. Can't imagine how cold it would have been on the water. brrrrrrr
Very nice. Jigs or minnows? How deep? The last several weeks I've been catching them fairly shallow.
No sympathy here. Too cold for that shit. Saw a guy pulling a boat at 4:00 am yesterday morning on my way to work. Couldn't believe it
Three friends of mine hit Dale Hollow this morning at daylight. Fished until noon. Had one 19" smallie. I have no desire to fish when it's cold like this.
Best time to fish is the next few months. Will tore some lips in Cumberland a couple weeks ago, looking for a window to fish the River below the dam, right now looking good for next Sunday.....Dress warm and let it fly.
That does it, I'm on the water next weekend as long as it's not raining. Cold is one thing, wet and cold is a whole different story.
Caught a few fish shallow but they were all dinks. Bigger fish were on minnow tipped jigs in 30-35 FOW suspended up at 18-22 feet on the very tops of brush. Chartreuse seemed to get the most bites.
Colder it is the better the smallmouth eat
Makes sense. Great looking mess and thanks for the info
I know. But I have zero desire to fish in cold weather like this.
I don't fish much in the summer because number one it is too damn hot and number two there are million idiots out on the lake in 30 foot long boats with zero care about a person fishing so I get most of mine done in the off months when it happens to be cooler!! Just hard for a feller who also likes to deer and rabbit hunt to get it all in. I usually stop rabbit hunting at the beginning of January and start fishing from now until Turkey season for stripes and crappie.
I keep going back looking at this it's making me want to go
