Went to Sportsman's in Lexington yesterday and picked up a new muzzleloader as I sold my Encore a couple of years ago. They had the 45 cal powder pellets but had no bullets. Was able to find some T/C brand at Cabelas but they had just one option. Do any of you have this gun or a .45 cal in general? Where do you get all of your stuff and what has worked best for you? Pretty excited to shoot it but really hope the triple 7 powered pellets and this bullet shoot good cause if not there isn't much I can do about it.

Most are getting good results with the ELR 280 grainers. If you have any .452 bullets, you might try dropping one in the bore. It will probably fall all the way through. There is some issue with the .45 calibers being overbored and running about .454 on average land to land. People have also been getting great results with bullets specifically recommended by Parker and Pittman. You might want to contact them at https://parkerproductionsinc.com/pages/contact-us and also https://www.pittmanbullets.com/ to see what they are recommending.

I have an Encore in 45 cal 45 stuff is hard sometimes to come by. I like power belt bullets in mine and I just measure the powder (pyrodex). If you look at the ballistics on the power belt pack there’s no difference in the 50 or 45 bullets using the same bullet weight and powder. So I guess there is no advantage in the 45. IMO

Yeah I agree. I would have much rather purchased one in a .50 but the .45 is all they had. They were on sale for $699 and couldn't pass it up. I usually just bow hunt but this is what I get for waiting till last minute to buy one haha. Always the late season and next year to acquire different bullets.
