Cumberland Stripers

[GSP]

Any one been striper fishing lately at Cumberland?
I'm going Sunday, wondering if any one is doing any good?

I read on fishing.com that some were doing OK. One guy said he was burning them up at night with slivers.

The guy would need a lesson in $$$$$. Those slivers are about $7 each(I almost typed " apiece") One thing though, if you hook a stripper with a sliver you will have her for awhile.
I think I have seen this same discussion on the fishing site.

Well I got my first chance at stripers yesterday and it was a blast (caught 3).
Almost as exciting as strippers!!!!!! Come to think about it, after
gas, food, drinks, bait, tackle etc.............they are more expensive than strippers!!!!!!!

Fishing day or night? I like fishing for stripers but usually don't start until after turkey season.

Caught them all between 6:30 & 8:00 AM (EST). Trolled the banks with shiners. Stayed in 30' water with planner boards running between 5 & 25'.
Picked up 3 fish from 29 - 35 inches

Warden310- you are missing some of the best fishing(if you like to night fish) if you are waiting until after turkey season.

Xcutter, my father and I have made many trips down below the dam to try to catch some stipers and had no luck all we caught was trout, and when we changed to big lures, at least 5in. long we was still catching trout.

Hey GSP have you ever used dynamite on those stripers it seems like that might work.

Tried Fishing Creek last Sun evening throwing jigs and slivers with zero success. Talked to a fellow that caught three small ones pulling shad and balloons. Fished from Lees Ford to the main lake.
