Had a great time. Had booked this trip a month ago and the weather played out perfect. We drove down sat afternoon and stayed the night at the striper king lodge which was nice. They made a us a good dinner and watched UK game. got up at 4am, got cleaned up, ate breakfast, drove 15mins down the to the marina and met up with our guide Rich. Dude is a class act. Everyone had a blast, Especially watching young Landen put the whooping on them. 4E1784C3-AF7D-4700-A18E-8359B13C1076.jpeg

You guys did great! Talk to me about the taste of this fish. Caught a mess of white bass a walleye at brookville lake IN. The Walleye was outstanding, the white bass had no taste but made good fish tacos.

To me it was more of a firm meaty tasting fillet. They Fried some up for us last night along with some Crappie. I mean the crappie was better but I still enjoyed the striper, wish I would’ve had a drizzle of lemon juice on some pieces but it was good. I guess it’s all about getting that red meat off the fillets to produce the best taste

Stripers taste better the colder the water. Later this winter they will taste a lot better.

That`s how I`ve always described it, the firmness makes it more like eating steak than fish... which makes it one of my favorite fish since I like steak more than fish. Try cutting it up in small chunks and deep frying it with beer batter on it. It`s awesome.

You definitely have to cut the red meat out same with hybrids, like freedman said they taste better when caught in colder weather I like it for fish sandwich’s because it’s firm. Congrats to the young man reeling the toads in glad you all got your limits!!

We were down there doing the same thing. Fished out of my boat Sat , caught a few smallies a few Kentuckies and I caught a 22" 4lb largemouth off the wall, damn thing was a skinny rail. Sunday we hit it for stripers, got our limit and 4 nice kittys by 10 am.

Striper (Rockfish where I just came from) is great. You pay dearly for it in Maryland restaurants. Broiled rockfish topped with crab meat.........

I've been taking the first thick slab off the filet and fixing them on my griddle. Season one side, get the griddle hot, throw some oil and then the filet seasoned side down, season the top side, turn the griddle down and cover the filet. When it's about 2/3 done, flip and cover. Best way I've eaten it so far.
