Crossbow hunting during archery season

A guy I know has said if you have a physical problem like a shoulder Injury and you get a doc to sign for you, you can crossbow hunt when bow season starts. Is this true?

if you go to Walmart you can find small sized laminating sheets that you just open and seal over your permit. it keeps them from falling apart,i made me a large copy I keep in the truck as a backup.
