My kids and I Have recently purchased a crawdad trap. We have a good sized creek that drains directly into the Ohio. We’ve yet to be successful....but we’ve only tried twice so far. They absolutely love the idea after watching countless hours of Kendall gray and his minner trappin episodes. Hopefully we catch some stuff cause they would eat it up. Literally and figuratively

Mason catches em all the time. We usually catch more in a minner basket w/white bread then we do in the actual crawdad traps. They are good eatin..but man it takes a bucket full to make a mess

I tried to narrow the holes on ours assuming most catches would be small

To my knowledge the only difference is the hole diameter. Crawfish traps have larger diameter entry holes.

I have tried it with very limited success. I actually think I'm doing too long of a soak as they will get out when the bait runs out.
Let us know if you figure it out, i saw a few bigguns in my creek this morn. I may run both sizes close to each other to maximize my catch

We just havent had alot of luck with the box style traps. He has put em in there side by side, using the same bait, and the minner traps will catch 2 to 1.

Kinda been thinking of doing this. But never have eaten them (outside of LA). Usually have just used them as bait.

Get yourself a seine net and catch all you want! Lots more fun as well. Kids would like that too.
