Figured I was close. 15' is usually a good spot to start. We have been catching them in 12’ to 15’ around tree tops. We get hung up a lot but it is worth it!

We have caught most of ours on minnows. We have caught a few on jigs but minnows seem most consistent for us.Minnows? Jigs? Jigs tipped with minnows?
No one seems to carry minnows around my area any longer. Just amazing. We have caught most of ours on minnows. We have caught a few on jigs but minnows seem most consistent for us.
Agree! They’re much better caught in the winter. Been three times over last month and a half, caught about 20 each time.Cannot beat cold.water.crappie.fillets.

I didn't take any pictures and don't know if buddy will or not. Took his boat and he paid for the trip so let him keep the fish. We managed to catch around a dozen and only had 7 keepers. We were fishing with minnows and jigs and I was tipping my jigs with minnows. We were catching em in about 20 foot of water around brush piles and as mentioned in the post above we hung a lot but was worth the trip. Sure beat setting at home.Minnows? Jigs? Go fishing when you can cause it’s goooood for ya! Haha Richard gene the fishing machine is great to watch for crappie fishing. He’s not pushing products, just a humble guy that consistently fills the boat and tells you how he’s doing it.2# is a little out of control lol. Check out his channel and other videos, dude is King Crappie imho.
4lb test is best in my opinionHe said in video he was using 2# line. Just curious what everyone likes to use. I use 4# mostly.
