Probably because you can't control what else you catch in the trap. Don't like them, hunt them year round.

You cant choose what's in the trap in trapping season also
Yeah but those other critters that are in your trap during trapping season are likely in season to trap as well. Good luck releasing the bobcat or fox from your trap during your "coyote only trapping season"
Because you would also be trapping other animals besides coyotes.

I was putting my turkey shit up Monday when a stupid little male coyote tried to slink thru the back yard. When I stepped on the deck with the turkey gun he commenced to haulin ass, but at 40 yards it was too late for him. Felt good to put the turkey gun up on a good note
