what does most archery ranges charge for shooting?
Don't know about indoor ranges, but around here, it's usually $10.00 per shooter for 20 or 30 targets on outdoor 3D ranges. Then, on tournament days, if you want to enter the tournament, it's $12-$15 dollars.
You are Kidding? Right? Lights, Heating and Air, Bags, Staff, Rent, Taxes, Loan Payments.....I don't know why they would charge either. If archery shops don't charge for their services then they go out of business and all you are left with is driving to the big box stores, and they charge too.
I think he was just asking how much it cost to shoot, not questioning why.
I havent shot in a long time but what Buck Nasty said is about what it used to be.
Most charge anywhere from $5 to $10 an hour, My apologies if I came off irritated. Just has some guys come by last week and got mad cause I charge $5.
$5/ hr is an awesome bargain, I wish your shop was closer to my house.
Was it this guy?
EP Sawyer State Park has an archery range and it doesn't cost a dime. I think Miller-Welch Central KY WMA in Madison county has a public archery range.
BF I'm not that bad, range is free for a month with a new bow purchase or if you get a new sight, rest or arrows.....and warranty work is free
No, I was thinking of trying to open one in Madison Co. I understand the costs involved. I'm not trying to get rich, Just break even. We have over 500 kids shooting NASP in Mad. Co. Plus I'm getting ready to start a JOAD program here. Just trying to give them a place they can get more practice. So many of their schools only practice once a week. Thanks
We run two nights of 4h archery at the shop, a few of our nasp kids come to that for extra practice. I don't charge the 4h. The nasp bows will require different targets than the standard bows for safety, you don't want any bounce back. Also don't forget the cost of the insurance, anytime you have kids shooting anything you need to cover your butt. Call me if you want maybe I can answer a few of your questions
nutcase, would you have the techno hunt system in you shop or do you know a archery shop in WKy that has techno hunt?
Try out Rock Castle in Park City. For $100 annual membership, you can shoot outdoor static and 3D (30 targets) year round and it's unlimited. Quick math says it pays for itself after 6 outings assuming average outdoor range fee is $15 per say or round.
