Going to build a 30 x 50 Quonset hut April 2016. What's the going rate for garage slab grade concrete per yard? Do you guys recommend any particular companies?

Get as much ready as you can be cheaper on you, place and finish saw cut about .80 cents down there, I am a flatwork contractor.

Are you talking about the price of concrete or the cost of someone to form, pour and finish?

Need the price of both. I retire next fall from the Navy so I need to conserve my leave. Unfortunately i'll need to hire someone to form, pour and finish plus pay for the concrete. Just trying to get a ballpark figure. 30x50 with 6 inch slab 50'x18" footer on each side with rebar throughout.

Seems like down here by the time you count in delivery and every thing, concrete is usually around 100$ per cubic yard. Or at least that was the price.

We just poured 7 yards last week. We built the foundation and frame and finished it ourselves. Had the concrete delivered and it was something like $113 per yard for 4500psi mix..

That's what I was thinking. Still way cheaper there than it is here in Norfolk, VA. I think I am looking at around 42-45 cubic yards so $4,300+/- and the cost form pour and finish. Plus I need to get everything graded and leveled out. This thing is getting expensive. LOL

55-60 cents per square ft here. Need a slab poured in front of my barn for porch. 12x60=720 sq ft.....labor for framing, pouring, and finishing = $400. I will be doing the grading. Concrete will run $780-$850 IIRC (9 yards) and $380 for the gravel. No rebar, using fiber

If you go with 2'x1' footers and 6" slab you should be right at 40 yds including a yard extra. You should expect to pay anywhere from 80cents to $1 a sq ft for the slab and $15 or so a linear foot for footers. Even though some wouldn't on an exterior building I would also put 6 mil poly under the slab. A 20x100 roll is $103.88 at lowes or Home Depot. If you get a quote that seems to good to be true...it probably is.

RackedUp, if I go by your numbers I get about $3,000. I am assuming that is for the concrete only and all the labor, form, rebar and finishing would be additional money right? Or were you talking about the cost of everything except the actual concrete?

The sq. ft. dollar amounts I threw out there were for labor only. You also have to figure for the cost of 40 yds of concrete and rebar for your footings. $100 a yard is probably pretty close to what you would be paying.

Ok. That makes sense now. So I'm looking at around $7,000-7,500 for the slab to be completed and ready for me to build.
