Colorado elk draw

I had money come out of my card on file but they have yet to post anything about me being successful for the draw in Colorado. For those that have done this before is that typical for the Colorado elk draw?

Not sure about Co, but some states make you pay up front then credit you if you're not drawn. Hope you drew.

I just checked again. I got drawn. Either sex muzzleloader. I’m pretty excited and completely unprepared. Guess I need to start getting in shape-yesterday.

Yeh. I got charged a non refundable application fee. And had to buy a 100 dollar qualifying license. (Small game license that is also nonrefundable). So I’m glad I drew the elk tag. I can’t imagine I would have driven to Colorado to squirrel hunt.

I think you can reapply for the secondary draw if unsuccessful the first time. You’ll have to look at the regs. I know it’s that way with elk.

Public. My uncle lives there and been begging me to come out for years. He has had moderate success in his area. I’m just along for the ride. Ready to see the landscape and it will be a bonus if I stumble into one.

Powerbelts are legal in Colorado. I already use Blackhorn. I ended up buying this western precision setup for my sights. https://muzzle-loaders.com/products...leloading-sight-set-cva-traditions-t-c-676584
I’m going to start running some different Powerbelt weights through to see which ones pattern best with the Blackhorn. I hate taking my scope off the muzzleloader but it is what it is.I’ll keep you posted on the sight system. It comes with good reviews.

Congrats! I will be there 2nd rifle season. OTC elk tag. Applied for mule deer as a bonus. Also plan on buying OTC bear tag.
