Day 5 and 7, did doubt kick in pretty hard or were you in the elk most days?
Ive deer and Turkey hunted for years with no pressure. I didnt realize the weird mental battle i would have to face when elk hunting. I dont have the funds to do it much and every unsuccessful day took its toll. Especially if none were seen. I spend a lot of time talking to myself trying to stay positive lol.

A friend in Colorado told me they are already starting to filter down out of the high country.
A friend in Colorado told me they are already starting to filter down out of the high country.
We were in elk every day. Had bulls within shooting range several times. But I won’t take a shot unless I’m 100% confident in being able to make it. A little doubt had crept in but I do it for the hunt. A harvest is just a bonus. I always figured if I am in Colorado and in elk I am a lot more fortunate than several stuck at work in KY.
