Clay WMA

Not meaning to dispute anyone’s word, but i can find no where on the Clay WMA maps and info that says camping is allowed. Me and some of the guys were talking about. Only WMA i know of that you can is ( or was) Peabody. Id be up for a bowhunt/camping trip there or LBL .

In my younger days probably in the late 70’s early 80’s I spent the night there in my truck camper and ran into a couple fellows in a pull camper that I knew from Floyd Co that had been camping there pretty regular during squirrel season. Of course that was quite a few years ago. We used to squirrel hunt a farm close to the Clay WMA before the state opened it up. The farmer we were hunting on got us permission to hunt there when it was private property. It was known then as the Clay Farm. Not many deer back then but lots of squirrel and groundhogs and some wild hogs on it then too.

Try Higgins and Henry WMA we used to to bow hunt it it every year Halloween week. They have a camp ground and its on a good size lake.

Can’t camp Green River WMAs, except for designated areas..there is only one I know of you don’t have to pay for…

Where is there free camping at Green River ? One more i didnt know about.

I called the information desk at KDFWR about camping on WMA and as usual the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. She told me there is not any camping information for WMA on hand neither is it listed anywhere on KDFWR website. She said to call each individual WMA office to find out whether camping is allowed.
