Just bought acreage in clay co area .......how's the deer hunting
Deer density isn't what it is in some parts of the state. However, I know from personal experience that there's some monster whitetail in those mountains. Good luck with your place!
Been some swarpers killed and seem to be hearing about more and mor each year. I'm in Leslie . What area in clay ?

Couldn't have said it any better, You will not see a deer every trip Sometimes you may wonder where the deer have went but you have the potential of killing a monster they grow big in those hills!!!
What area in Clay? Thats where I hunt. Some places are loaded some places are not it depends on how many of your neighbors have a spotlight for how many deer you will see. There are good bucks around but most have small mass check out my pic titled east ky 10 and you will see how the majority of the mass is on deer around there. If you are a trophy hunter then you will most likely be eatin tag soup 3 out of 4 years.
As long as you share with the trespassers an neighbors you will get along fine
The key to hunting in clay co is to get farther back in the hills than anyone else is willing to go. The hunting is hard but it is good if you put in your time and effort.
Boggs and crosshair ..... About 10 miles outside manchester
In which direction from manchester
Cross.....sent you a pm
Not familiar with that location.
I turkey hunted a few years ago in Clay Co., where I was, about 10 miles from Manchester, the country was very steep. The folks who owned the land said trespassers and poachers pretty much had free run of the whole county.
Many good folks in the area but huge drug problem there as well. Be safe!
Atv's and high power rifles keeps the age of bucks down real good.
