Obviously not what everyone here is thinking of…. But…
When I got bored during Covid, I started setting out a trap. I live in the city and kids were hearing animals getting into the attic. Neighbors were having the same problems. In the next almost 3 years now, I have racked up well over 200 raccoons and possums, 3 squirrels, 2 birds and 2 house cats. Used up 3 traps of my own and now the neighbor has given me one. Here are a few of my catches

Oh so your dumping them out to be somebody else’s problem.
Bullet in the head round here. Town or not.
Exactly! So many different ways of dispatch even if in city limits or drive far out then let the lead fly, but the end result should always be the same. One less nest raider, not a relocated one. Whatever area that has gotten 200 more raccoons and possums, I’m willing to bet does not have a thriving turkey population.

I’m open to suggestions on where to kill them. I sprinkle them around. I’m not dropping them off at the same place. I just can’t think of a lot (any) place where I can let them go and blast them.

The groundhogs I catch don't leave the cage alive. A .22 short from a revolver at point blank range is quick and merciful.

Like mentioned above, for one I would not release then shoot. You shoot while in the cage to insure you put the shot exactly where you want it. A air rifle makes it quiet, or using 22 shorts especially from a rifle won’t be loud either.

I’ve always heard a garbage can full of water works really good. Just lower the trap in. I’ve also heard that a rake-in can hold its breath longer than you would think. Obviously I have no first hand knowledge of this but that’s what I’ve heard from people who have had issues with problem rake-ins within city limits.
