Got a few days off and got the itch to fish the creek behind house. Wear them out for about three hours this morning. There are bigger smallmouth in there and plan on fishing a lot while I have some time off.
What are creek fish eating when it's that cold? I love creek fishing, but have never tried it when it's real cold.
Caught all of them today on a 1/16 ounce Ned rig. The key was to make sure it stayed in contact with the bottom and work slow.
If we had smallies that size in creeks down here in the far western end of the state I’d probably never fish the lake again ha.
That’s a good time right there just mostly trout in our creeks by the house , once the river goes down I will be chasing the smallies and trying for musky
Went back to the creek today for a couple hours 35 degrees and spitting snow. Caught a few nothing huge but a good time on a cold winter day.
