I still really know nothing about cast iron but I picked up a few more pieces.
Guy I got them from would only sell them in a bundle. I really only wanted 1 or possibly 2 of them but it is what it is. I mainly wanted the Griswold and the Wagner was ify just due to what it is and I knew it probably wasn't that old from talking to a few people. I think the unmarked one is a lodge but really don't knowI was given a Wagner Ware skillet. It’s got a large W that’s used in both words. It says Made in USA with an A under that. To be honest it feels cheap, so I’d stay away from those. The other one is older and of superior quality. It make great eggs, too.
You can’t win them all but 2 out of 3 is good in my book
Lady Hunter thanks for the info. I figured if you seen this you would know what was what1st is an unmarked Wagner. 2nd is an anniversary Wagner made in the late 80s. And the Gris is sweet!
Sent you a pmOut of curiosity how much did you give for them ?
The lid alone is worth that!!!Pretty good score for $30

It was at an estate sale marked $60. My wife got there the last day everything was 50% off, she couldn't believe it was setting there so she just grabbed it up.The lid alone is worth that!!!
That is a nice find for sure. I have passed in several more just because I decided it didn't want em to just sit around and collect dust. I would have gotten that one either way.It was at an estate sale marked $60. The 2nd is marked for $20 and the first I thought a little high at $751st one isn't ringing a bell but it MAY be a Lodge based on the handle & the "helper handle." The "ears" look awfully small though. It could be an Asian knock off of Lodge. That said.... if it's not warped, 15" skillets are HARD to find so it may be worth grabbing regardless.
The 2nd one.... I can't resist a "scratch off surprise"!!!! I'm pretty sure it's an older Lodge based on the handle but whether it's a new'ish one (unlikely given the amount of crud on it), a 3 notch, a single notch, or even a no notch, is hard to say. If the price was right, I'd have to grab it just to have the pleasure of cleaning it & finding out for sure what it was! lol!
