Have a chance to lease some land in Carlisle county, along the river. How's deer hunting in that area? We're coming from breckenridge county, got rid of our lease due to them cutting the timber.
Wish I could help you, but I dont have a clue. You can go to telecheck, and see numbers killed in each county in Ky, might give you a idea on it.
Man ... lease it NOW!! I used to have a buddy that owned a 400 acre farm in Carlisle County and he'd take me along to help him hunt it whenever he could get loose during season. He died and his daughter sold the farm, so that was the end of that but ... I never saw that many deer anywhere else in Kentucky. At that time, if I remember correctly, the KDFW would let you take 4 does in Carlisle County and the farmers would welcome you with open arms if you'd come over and thin the herd on their farm. I never saw a monster but in sheer numbers, it would be hard to beat and I'll bet there are some pretty healthy bucks around there somewhere. Let me add that this was 20 years ago so things may have changed but I'd be amazed if they've thinned out that herd since then. Good luck!
There is great and terrible hunting properties in every zone and county in the state. Only real way to know if it is worth a hoot is to get out and take a look at it. If I was a betting man I’d say with that location it should be good but I’ve hunted some prime looking pieces that were down right terrible but good luck to you.
