Guy has a 19 ft 2006 Bass Tracker with a 115 Mercury on it that’s been setting in a barn covered since 2008. What’s a the biggest worry with it setting so long. He has it being checked by a boat mechanic now and said he has it running and will give me the reports once he picks it up. His grandpa had it and he just wants it gone. Asking 5000 for it.

I'd definitely want to take it out and run it through the ringer..... Open the motor up and run it wide open for 10 minutes or more. Hoses could, and some probably have, dry rotted..... Run the live well pumps/aerators. Let it sit still for 15 minutes or so, then look in the back to make sure it doesn't take on water. Leave live wells open while sitting to make sure none of those fittings have dry rotted.....

Was any cylinders stuck,. If so it may run good then lose compression later, other than that like bg said anything rubber sits will dry rot even if it's being used

Make sure the water pump impeller is replaced.

Check the bilge pump and replace the water pump. Do a compression test

I wouldn't trust a single thing that was made of rubber.

I need to replace my impeller. How hard is it to do this?

As he said, I would worry about dry rot hoses, aeriator, bilge, fuel lines.

Sounds like it may be the tournament edition similar to mine with that size and motor combo. If it is, you would not regret the purchase!!!

Replace the whole water pump with a rebuild kit, not just the impeller. Kit comes with gaskets and wear plates. they are important too.

I have one of these myself. It's been sitting for 8-9 years. I would like to know what he did to it to get it going.
