One of the biggest set of elk antlers I’ve ever seen was left with the carcass. Only the backstraps were removed. Yotes had eaten most of the rump area. And I’ve seen some big elk on this creek. No joke.
Wow............ I've found a couple, guides have found many, and never a single one with head in tact. Like I said, "in my experience".

And that BS is the reason I never entered my son to elk hunt locally where we live. I wanted him to have a positive experience across the board. Let me get drawn and get the opportunity to elk hunt. They not going to run me off.

Exactly. U know I’m not talking about LMO. But the guides on my creek will do everything under the sun to get a kill. I can’t stand the POSs.
I know, and I know who you're talking about......... And.... some of the "guides" don't really care if they get a kill. Get a few hunters, collect the money, sit them on a stump........

I have no interest in firing shots, just saying what I know. I doubt very many of these guide services respect the elk the way they should, and listening to my buddy's experience with LMO just strengthens my opinion. But there isn't much anyone can do about it, so let em run the elk resource into the ground til it's gone I suppose. I doubt anyone pictures the state of Ky when elk hunting is brought up anyway.
